End of Year Performance – 2009
It was great to see our children taking part in the legends of ‘Brazilian Folklore’ at the ABCD’s end-of-year show on Sunday Dec 6 at Fort St Public School. They explored several myths and legends, and had great fun in the process.

Children’s Day 2010 – ABCD’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations
More than 90 children took part in the Brazilian Children’s Day held in Mosman on Nov 15 to celebrate childhood and the ABCD’s 10th anniversary. There were cooking, dance, capoeira, drawing and craft workshops, plus delicious Brazilian food and drinks and a giant birthday cake.

‘Braussies” Photo Exhbition
Sydney-based Brazilian photographer Daniel Coelho honoured the ABCD with an exhibition of stunning images of its students and members held at the Consulate General of Brasil in Sydney from Sep 2009.

What a Show!
The traditional end-of-year presentation took place on Sunday Dec 7 at Fort St Public School, The Rocks, in Sydney.
More than 40 children took part – great actors, dancers and narrators!

Children’s Day Picnic – What a lovely afternoon
The Children’s Day picnic was great fun, aided by lovely weather and live music in the park! Thanks to all those who came and helped and to Joana Mendes (and hubby Jason) for organising it and making it possible, and Brazilian Style Foods for the lovely raffle prize. Check out the photos here.

SEMINAR: BILINGUALISM – AN OPEN DOOR TO THE WORLD
The ABCD held a very informative seminar on Saturday May 24 in Harbord, Sydney, aimed at helping families conquer the challenges of bilingual upbringing. With the support of the Brazilian Consulate General some 80 guests together with experts and educators were able to share their experiences and tips. Thanks to all who participated and made the event possible. You can see some of the speeches delivered on the day here.

The 2007 End-of-Year Concert was held at Fort St Public School, The Rocks on Dec 2. It was fantastic to see our students and members singing, dancing and reciting on stage with their families watching on. We saw several tears rolling down some faces! Check some of the moments here.

In 2002, the official launch of the ABCD took place during an exclusive evening seminar with renowned Brazilian author Luis Fernando Verissimo, when he visited Sydney for the Sydney Writers Festival.
